The legend continues as the
Northern Michigan Gift and Souvenir Show returns to Boyne Highlands
Resort in Harbor Springs, Michigan on April 22-24, 2012. The show was
organized over 58 years ago at a time when Gatlinburg and a few other
prominent markets were just beginning to be established. The reps
involved with organizing these events would come to be recognized as
pioneers of their industry.
What’s most unique about the show is its ability to assemble the best of
the best souvenir and gift manufacturers literally on the door step of
this coastal, seasonal resort area at the right time. Where, when and
who are perfectly aligned.
While the show occupies the largest floor space available in the area,
it is still modest in size so there is not room for every manufacturer
to be at this show, but all the best ones are. Over the years this
unique wholesale order writing show has been honed into an acute “who’s
who” of the gift and souvenir industry. The exhibitors who show here are
seen in all the bigger markets throughout the country and make wise
choices as to where they show.
Another of the show’s appeals is its dates. Having 50+ years of history
behind it, allows for perfection in timing. Over the years the show’s
dates have been adjusted to take place at a time when most other markets
have concluded, allowing the northern Michigan show to stand out as a
last chance for stores to order merchandise in time for their busy
summer season ahead.
Held against the beautiful backdrop of a world class ski and golf
destination resort, the off-season timing of the show falls right
between the resort’s outdoor activities. Because of the timing Boyne
Highlands Resort is able to offer rooms to buyers at incredible savings;
$69 per room / night. This is over half off their normal seasonal rate.
This very attractive rate makes the choice of where to stay an easy
decision.
